About KPTM Ipoh
The educational history of MARA Ipoh Poly-Tech College (KPTM Ipoh) began with its establishment as the MARA Institute of Commerce (IPM) in 1996. Courses conducted at that time included short-term courses such as computer, language, school management and education as well as one course long -term i.e. the NCC Diploma conducted in collaboration with the United Kingdom.
Subsequently in 1999, a change in management made IPM change its name to Akademi Infotech MARA (AIM). In addition to continuing the existing short -term courses, AIM also offers a full -time long -term Interactive Multimedia Diploma course in partnership with the University of Edith Cowan, Australia.
On 1st January 2004, Akademi Infotech MARA (AIM) was absorbed under the management of KPTM Sdn. Bhd and changed its name to MARA Ipoh Poly-Tech College, Perak (KPTM Ipoh). Armed with the experience of conducting joint venture courses with foreign universities, this time KPTM IPOH began to offer internal courses, namely the Diploma in Multimedia. This course of study was recognized by MQA in 2006 and this is a testament to the college's continuous efforts to ensure that quality education continues to be offered to students.
The change in status as a competitive IPTS has prompted KPTM Ipoh to continue to work hard to improve the quality of its education over time. Various efforts have been undertaken such as academic development, infrastructure such as the construction of multimedia studios, laboratory equipment and the development of information systems and IT integration. The quality of college management is also enhanced through the development of human resource capital to be more competent.
The progress of KPTM Ipoh can also be witnessed through the offering of new courses for study at the Diploma level, namely Diploma in Animation, Diploma in Game Design, Diploma in Digital Marketing and Diploma in Teaching Of English As A Second Language (TESL).
